ERBIL/SLÊMANÎ, Kurdistan region 'Iraq',— Hundreds of Kurdish Yazidi citizens from Kurdistan Region and from Shingal (Sinjar) have gathered in front of the Office of Kurdistan Parliament in Slêmanî (Sulaimaniyah) on Monday, to demand the Kurdistan regional government KRG, the Iraqi government and the international community to help of sons of the district who are being attacked and killed by ISIS gunmen after control of these groups on their city.
A number of protesters said that “their families are besieged in the city and exposed to genocide after food and drinking water finished and hundreds of men and women were killed by the militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria ISIS.
They called on Peshmerga forces to speed up re-controlling of the Kurdish city of Shingal to be able to return to their families, urging the international community to intervene to stop the crimes committed against this community.
The news received from Shingal district refers to the control of ISIS jihadists on the city and the displacement of thousands of families into the near mountains and valleys for fear of ISIS.
While dozens of Kurds Yazidis living in Erbil, capital of Kurdistan Region protested also on Monday, in front of the Parliament of Kurdistan against the control of ISIS terrorists on areas of Sinjar, Angry demonstrators demanded the political blocs in Kurdistan Parliament to convene an emergency session to discuss the implications of these conditions.
One of the protesters refused to be named said that” the conditions of the Yazidis in Sinjar is very bad, pointing out that most of the residents of the area fled from their homes after the withdrawal of Peshmerge forces from the area.
He added that the Yazidis are suffering from very harsh conditions after threats that affected their lives, noting that some and after arriving in Erbil province gathered in front of parliament to attend without one to listen to their problems.
On Sunday Tahseen Saeed Beck, the current leader of Iraqi and world Yazidis who is currently based in Germany, called on Kurdistan authorities as well as the international community to help Yazidis from Sinjar as soon as possible and protect them from IS attacks.
It is scheduled for heads of parliamentary blocs to meet Monday with Peshmerge Commission and the Presidency of the parliament in the presence of its chairman to discuss the security situation in the disputed areas, or so-called by Kurds as "Kurdish areas outside the region."
