Americans are finally starting to understand that Kurds are the best allies.
As a US citizen, I believe most Americans are finally starting to understand that the Kurds are our best allies in the region. 



They protect people from all religions, and they are excellent fighters. Kobane has captured the attention of the public here. Our military said it probably couldn't be held. But it is. The longer defenses hold, the more pressure our military has to not just worry about "strategic" victories - which they indicate Kobane is not. Clearly, the tenacity of the Kurds in Kobane has forced our military to go all out to save Kobane. (Unfortunately, what Vice President Biden said about Turkey "in error" is recognized by the public as true. Turkey has an agenda that doesn't work well with ours.) 

I would suggest that the role of women in Kobane be publicized. You can't imagine how much support would be gained in the US if some woman in Kobane gave the updates.

I guarantee she would be on the evening news and in every newspaper if that were to happen. If the report were to indicate there are more than a couple of women there, if it thanked America for the air support and beg for...Maybe this would hurt in Arab countries. But it would strike the heart of most Americans. The public would feel more of an obligation to save Kobane and help the Kurds. Trust me, with our elections coming in 6 weeks, more pressure will require our military to do what ever is possible to save Kobane. The public doesn't know "strategic". But we do have a soft spot when it comes to women and men fighting to the death to defeat the most evil fighting force on earth today. 

You get the idea. In the US, we hear how many problems our intervention causes. I pilot makes a mistake on hits a friendly force, we get raked over the coals. In Kobane, I suspect every fighter would say if they died because of an misdirected bomb, the last thing they would do would be to forgive the pilot. They just seem to be completely dedicated to protecting their home at all costs.
