A Turkish court sentenced Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Dilek Ocalan to two years and six months in prison over her speech in a funeral.

Urfa 5th Criminal Court gave its verdict on Dilek Ocalan’s case, in which she is being tried over her speech in a funeral in Viransehir, a district of Urfa province.

The court sentenced Ocalan to two years and six months in prison for “making terrorist propaganda”.

Another HDP MP Osman Baydemir is also being tried by the same court for the same offenses. The court will give its verdict about Baydemir on June 7.
