A 21-year-old law student named Simin Joghatai was murdered by her brothers in Taybad, Tavaneh, Khorasan Razavi Province, after a week of torture. The killers' motive for killing this young girl was reportedly due to what is called "honor protection."


According to a report received by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, Simin Joghatai, a 20-year-old from Taybad County, was murdered by her four brothers after a week of torture, beatings, and a blow to the neck with a shovel.


According to Hengaw sources, Simin Joghatai was murdered by her brothers on suspicion of having made a phone call to her boyfriend.


The source also added that the young girl's body was not identifiable due to the severity of the torture and beatings, and her neck was broken with a shovel.


Simin Chaghatai was a law student at Taibad Azad University at the time of the crime.


It is worth noting that the perpetrators of this murder were arrested after committing this crime, but given the consent of their parents, the process of their release is being reviewed in the judicial process and there is a possibility of their release in the near future
