A mother in Iran is on the verge of execution and my heart breaks to see all this silence.
The silence of great figures, the world’s pretentious leaders, the silence of anti-war activists in the West, the silence of feminist leaders and the silence of those who call themselves the leaders of the free world.
What is her crime? Her only “crime” was that she fought for her child’s freedom and dignity, for a better future. Our country’s barbaric regime wants to hang her for the crime of seeking justice. And the world has turned a blind eye.
Why have the global justice and feminist movements remained silent? Where is the anger and protest?
This is not just a political issue. It is about humanity being hanged for the crime of feeling responsible. If justice has meaning, then what does it mean when those who once marched against oppression and war are now turning a blind eye to an unequal war against a mother who wanted nothing but justice and humanity?
This execution is not just a death sentence for a woman, it is a test of collective humanity in the world around us...
