BREAKING: #Elizabeth_Tsurkov, Israeli citizen and Princeton PhD student, has been FREED after 903 days in captivity by Iran-backed terrorists in Iraq. She was kidnapped after arriving to conduct academic research.

Thank you, President Trump for helping get it DONE...Mr. Trump in a secret letter to Iraqis in recent days, part of which has been leaked, reads as follows:

I am sending a serious message to the Iraqis: Release the woman you have kidnapped or another fate awaits you.

I am giving Iraq 24 hours, if she is not released, you must wait for other events.

An Israeli-Russian graduate student from Princeton University in New Jersey who was kidnapped by a Shiite militia in Iraq in 2023 has been released from captivity and is now in US custody, US President Donald Trump and the student’s family said on Tuesday.

While Iraq said a “group of outlaws” kidnapped Elizabeth Tsurkov, Trump announced she was released by the powerful pro-Iran Kataeb Hezbollah militia group.

“As a culmination of extensive efforts exerted by our security services over the course of many months, we announce the release of the Russian citizen, Elizabeth Tsurkov,” Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said on X, without noting her Israeli citizenship. After more than 900 days in captivity in Iraq, Elizabeth Tsurkov has finally returned to Israel and reunited with her loved ones.

Tsurkov, a Princeton PhD student and Israeli-Russian citizen, was kidnapped in Baghdad in March 2023 by the Shiite militia Kata’ib Hezbollah. Her family and governments worked tirelessly for her release.

First images show her walking with difficulty, reportedly due to severe back pain that worsened during captivity. She has been admitted to Sheba Medical Center for treatment and recovery.

Her release is a moment of relief and joy, but also a reminder that many hostages are still waiting to come home. We continue to pray for their release and safe return.
