Mamosta Logman Amini, Friday imam of the “Chahar Yar Nabi” Grand Mosque in Sanandaj, was sentenced to three years and one month in prison and permanent removal of clerical robes by the Tehran Special Clergy Prosecutor’s Office on charges of “insulting the sanctities of Islam.”
This Kurdish mamosta, who had previously been arrested during the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement for supporting freedom seekers and the victims of this movement, was sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison.
He was arrested in Ordibehesht of this year after being summoned to the Hamadan Special Clergy Court and was temporarily released on bail after 43 days.
Previously, in 1401, Mamosta Amini was sentenced by the Hamedan Special Clergy Court to five years in prison, one year in prison, and another five years in prison on charges such as “possessing a firearm,” “propaganda against the regime and in favor of Kurdish parties,” and “inciting chaos and supporting protesters.”
He was also sentenced to permanent removal from his clerical robes, a lifetime ban from preaching sermons, and two years of exile to Ardabil.
The cleric was arrested in Bahman 1401 on his way from Sanandaj to Marivan and released on bail after three weeks.
