Donald Trump once said something painfully true, that children grow up to mirror what they see. If what they see are murderers hailed as heroes, martyrs glorified as saints, and hatred rewarded as godly gifts,, what kind of human beings will they become? It’s not politics; it’s psychology. It’s what any child psychologist would recognize as generational trauma turned into indoctrination, the constant watering of a seed that was never meant to grow.
In that sense, Hamas is not just a terrorist organization; it’s a collective disorder. It operates like malignant narcissism at the level of a society, feeding on rage, incapable of empathy, convinced of its own eternal victimhood while inflicting endless pain on others. It’s an identity built on grievance, incapable of self-reflection, always needing an enemy to survive. You could almost diagnose it: a blend of antisocial personality disorder, narcissism, and a messianic delusion wrapped in religious justification.
And so the children of Gaza are not only victims of war, they are victims of psychological captivity. They are raised under a system that celebrates death more than life, that praises destruction as destiny. It’s not different from emotional or psychological abuse, it just happens on a national scale. Hamas doesn’t raise citizens; it manufactures trauma and calls it faith.
Maybe the world would understand this better if we stopped calling it “resistance” and started calling it what it is, pathology. Not of the people, but of the ideology that infected them. You don’t negotiate with a pathology; you treat it, you isolate it, you prevent it from spreading. And you save the host, the people, before the disease consumes them completely.
Because the truth is, Hamas is not fighting for liberation, it’s fighting for validation, for its own warped reflection to keep existing. And if the world keeps mistaking illness for identity, then we are all enabling the disease. The time has come to stop trying to reason with madness and start healing what’s still human.
