#KouroshKeyvani, a double-nationality (Swedish-Iranian) political prisoner from Savojbolagh, was executed on March 18, 2026, after being unjustly convicted on charges of “Espionage for Israel”

. According to reliable sources, the execution was carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. He was arrested on June 16 2025, and based on regime-affiliated channels, he had allegedly provided sensitive information and images of state facilities to Israeli intelligence; however, no detailed evidence or documentation has been made publicly available.
Very limited information has been released about his case, including the details of the legal proceedings, access to a lawyer, or the conditions under which the verdict was issued. The lack of transparency has raised serious concerns regarding due process and the fairness of his trial.
His execution comes amid a broader pattern of arrests and harsh sentences during heightened regional tensions. Human rights observers have long warned that accusations such as “espionage” are frequently used in politically sensitive contexts, often without the disclosure of verifiable evidence. At least 18 prisoners have been executed for the same charge. In an environment where access to independent legal representation and fair trial guarantees is severely restricted, such charges raise serious concerns about their potential use as tools of repression.
