This assistance includes components for modified Shahed drones to improve communication, navigation, and targeting. Russia has also provided tactical guidance on the number of drones and attack altitudes based on its experience in Ukraine. Russia has also provided information on the location of US forces and their regional allies, and recently provided satellite imagery directly to Iran.

Analysts say the level of cooperation is similar to the intelligence the US and Europe have provided to Ukraine. The aid is said to have been instrumental in attacks on US radar systems in the region, including the THAAD early warning radar in Jordan and targets in Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. Satellite imagery provides detailed information about the movements of ground and naval targets and is used for targeting and damage assessment.
