امیرحسین اعتمادی، در دورهای در ایران بهعنوان مشاور و معاون وزارت اطلاعات تحت مدیریت علی فلاحیان فعالیت میکرد. پس از خروج از کشور، او به یکی از مشاوران اصلی و نزدیکان رضا پهلوی تبدیل شد.
رضا پهلوی که بهزعم برخی منتقدان، فاقد سواد و بینش سیاسی عمیق است، در بسیاری از سخنرانیها و پیامهایش از مشورت و راهنمایی امیرحسین اعتمادی و افرادی چون سعید قاسمی بهره میگیرد. این گروه بهطور مداوم در کنار او حضور دارند و مسیر پیامهای او را تنظیم و هدایت میکنند. اعتمادی به شکلی مستمر همراه و همراه همیشگی رضا پهلوی است.
