 Bloomberg story also says emails indicated that Epstein purchased an $11,000 Rolex for Tom Barrack, longtime Trump friend who is now the ambassador of Turkey. Barrack also scheduled a meeting with Epstein. Barrack denied comment on the meeting and said he never received any gift from Epstein.

Newly released documents reveal that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein emailed Tom Barrack, the US ambassador to Turkey and special envoy to Syria, requesting photos of Barrack "and child" to "make me smile."

The exchange, dated March 2016, continues Epstein's ties to influential figures after his 2008 conviction for procuring a minor for prostitution.

The correspondence began when Barrack, a real estate mogul and longtime Trump ally, reached out to Epstein on March 9, 2016, writing, "Hope ur good. Let’s catch up."

Epstein responded promptly: "Send photos of you and child.. - make me smile."

Barrack apparently complied, as Epstein later replied, "Photos look good." It remains unclear which "child" Epstein referenced or the nature of the images shared.

Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges, had a history of exploiting underage girls with the aid of his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021.

His 2008 plea deal allowed him to serve just 13 months in a lenient work-release program, after which he continued mingling with elites in finance, politics, and philanthropy.

Barrack, 78, was confirmed by the US Senate as ambassador to Turkey in April 2025. He also serves as special envoy to Syria and has handled diplomacy in Lebanon and the Gulf states.

A key Trump advisor, Barrack chaired the 2017 inaugural committee and was acquitted in 2022 of charges related to acting as an unregistered foreign agent for the United Arab Emirates.

The emails surfaced as part of a massive 20,000-page document trove released by the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

This incident adds to the ongoing scrutiny of Epstein's network, which included former presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump.

Trump has publicly distanced himself from Epstein since around 2004, but the documents suggest indirect connections persisted through mutual associates like Barrack.
