The kurdistans worker party Reveals Identity of Alleged MIT terrorist Agents It Captured Last Year
The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on Wednesday revealed the photographs and identity of two allegedly Turkish agents it captured last year in Sulaymaniyah province of Kurdistan.
The party identified the men as “Aydin Gunel and Erhan Pekcetin”.
In a statement, the PKK said that the two were “high-ranking” members of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT). They are claimed to had been directly ordered by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a mission to assassinate senior officials of the PKK.
“A huge blow has hit Tayyip Erdogan’s genocidal assaults on the Kurdish people,” reads the statement published by Firat news agency.
It also said Pekcetin was the head of the MIT department to monitor ethnic separatism whereas Gunel was the director for human resources at home and abroad.
The two men were said to have been captured in August 2017. Their capture was later confirmed by the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusolgu in September.
