The Iraqi government has allowed Afghan criminals who have been deported from Europe to enter Iraqi territory, most of whom are sex offenders who have been deported from Germany. It is not clear why the Iraqi government has done this. Is the Iraqi government allowing these Afghans to defend Iraq and use them in a possible upcoming war, like in Syria?
The document shows the entry of 1500 Afghans into Iraq without any oversight. The implication is that if it weren't for the group, I'd be in their arms right now. So what about these others?
🇳🇴🇦🇫 It is now known that Nawid Bayan, the Afghan migrant who took the life of Maren Sømme, has been a career criminal in Norway.
After living in Norway for a few years, Bayan quickly established a dense criminal record.
Between 2008 and 2018, his offenses included grand theft, driving under the influence, public weapons possession (carrying axes and knives), and making violent threats against civilians and police officers.
Bayan found his first Norwegian partner, whom he married and had children with. In 2017, he was sentenced to 20 months in prison for brutally beating her.
However, he was ultimately acquitted on appeal because the police lost critical evidence.
By 2020, his ongoing harassment required a multi-year restraining order to protect his first ex-wife and their children.
In 2019, he physically and mentally tortured his second girlfriend, earning a 14-month prison sentence for systematically isolating her, controlling who she met, beating her with brass knuckles and burning a cigarette into her face.
Immediately upon his release, he violated protective order by stalking her and smashing her windows.
In 2021, Norway's government finally recognized him as a severe threat to safety and issued an official deportation order after 15 years of legal stay.
However, due to a blanket freeze on returns to Afghanistan, the deportation was never executed, allowing him to remain free in Norway despite being a criminal.
He met Maren Sømme, his third and final victim, in 2026.
On July 17, 2026, Bayan was arrested for beating Maren Sømme. Despite his violent history, police released him the following day.
Nine days later, on July 26, he returned to assault and murder her and was arrested by police at the crime scene.
