Breaking: Spontaneous protests have erupted in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia; neither the police nor the government were able to prevent them. Driven by economic hardships and corruption, people in various nations have taken to the streets—a trend recently observed in France, Italy, Albania, Greece, Portugal, and parts of Germany.

Today, Serbia has also become caught up in this wave of unrest.
Students from across Serbia had traveled to the capital to protest; they were suddenly joined by local residents who took to the streets in their support, causing the situation to spiral beyond police control.
Much like the unrest seen in France, Italy, Albania, and Greece, the protests in Serbia are directed against the government and are fueled by economic grievances, including high prices and inflation.
