Arrest and disappearance of #Maryam_Abbasi, mother of #Bita_Shafiei, one of the protesters and detainees of the 1401 uprising
According to a report published by #Bita_Shafiei, daughter of #Maryam_Abbasi, on the afternoon of November 1, 1404, agents affiliated with the IRGC Intelligence entered the Shafiei family home and arrested Maryam Abbasi, mother of Bita Shafiei, one of the detainees of the 1401 uprising, and transferred her to an unknown location.
According to Bita, the agents entered the home without presenting an arrest warrant and damaged the household items during the search. The family’s daughter was not present at the time of the raid.
Maryam Abbasi’s family has announced that they have not received any information about her condition after her transfer and claim that a “case has been fabricated” against her. They have asked the public to be their voice.
According to the report of the court, the failure of the officer and judicial authority to provide information about the detained person is a clear example of illegal and arbitrary detention, and if no information about the reason for the arrest and the charges attributed to the family is provided, it is considered an enforced disappearance.
Because according to the law, after arresting a person, the officers and judicial authorities must provide information about the reason for the arrest, the charges attributed to the person, and the place of detention and the health status of the detainee to his family.
