On 13 September 2014 ISIS launched a huge attack with 10,000 fighters and hundreds of tanks and vehicles and heavy weapons on Kobani city and sieged it for 5 months. For over 5 months YPG and Kurdish fighters, peshmerga with some rebels fought day and night in street battles against ISIS with few weapons and no heavy weapons.The battle was won and since then YPG have been chasing ISIS from the villages around Kobani liberating hundreds.
