SHENGAL - ANF
A mass grave of dozens of women executed by ISIS has
been found in Shengal in the wake of its liberation by Êzîdî and Kurdish forces
yesterday. The grave is yet to be opened as works continue to make the town
completely safe.
The mass grave has been discovered upon the telling of
young women who managed to flee ISIS captivity after a period of slavery in
their hands. Witnesses said 78 women aged between 40 and 80 were buried in
the mass grave.
Shengal municipality council member Miyaser Hacı said;
"It seems the terrorists wanted to hold only young women."
Another local executive in Shengal, Mahma Halil, also
confirmed the presence of the mass grave with around 80 women buried in it.
Attacks by the inhumane ISIS gangs on Shengal as of 3
August 2014 forced hundreds of thousands of people to leave their land. After
committing a genocide against the people from Êzîdî community, gang groups
abducted thousands of girls and women whom they later treated as sexual slaves
and sold in slave markets.
