Asya Abdullah calls for ‘aid corridor’

PYD Co-President Asya Abdullah, who is in Kobanê taking part in the resistance against ISIS gangs, has said they need an ‘aid corridor’ in order to maintain the resistance, calling on international forces to take notice of this demand.

Asya Abdullah, who is in Kobanê, spoke to ANF providing information regarding the resistance in the town to ISIS.
She said that the ISIS gangs had carried out intensive assaults on Kobanê with heavy weaponry, but that the YPG and YPJ had mounted a great resistance to the attacks. Abdullah added that in order for this resistance to continue there was an urgent need for an aid corridor, urging coalition forces to take notice of this demand.
Abdullah said that street fighting was continuing with the gangs, with the YPG mounting a successful resistance. Abdullah added that despite this, ISIS was bombarding civilian areas from outside the town with heavy weaponry, causing civilian casualties. Abdullah emphasised the importance of the coalition continuing its bombardment of ISIS positions in order to protect civilians.
The PYD Co-President added that ISIS was constantly bringing in reinforcements of men and weaponry from places such as Rakka, Manbij, Jarablus, Sarrin, Tal Abyad and Ayn Issa, stressing the need for effective attacks to disrupt these reinforcements.
Abdullah said that in the town of Ayn Issa, in particular, the gangs had seized many tanks from the regime, which they were now using against Kobanê.
