HPG: Operation to liberate Sinjar continues


HPG (People’s Defense Forces) Sinjar Command and YBŞ (Sinjar Resistance Units) General Command have issued a joint statement reporting that the operation to liberate Sinjar from ISIS gangs continues and that 6 gang members were killed in clashes in the last 24 hours.


“Our guerrilla forces launched an attack on the gangs emplaced in Serê Sukê between 13:00 and 15:00 on 3 January” reported the statement, adding that 4 gang members were killed in the clashes during which a heavy blow was inflicted on the gangs.
The statement reported that at 16:00 on 3 January the resistance forces carried out another action against the gangs around Cisra Çayxane, leaving 2 gang members dead and 3 others wounded.
The statement also reported that 2 guerrillas have fallen fighting between 1-3 January. “Our comrades have dedicated themselves for the liberation of Yezidi people and Sinjar” said the HPG statement, also vowing to carry this historic struggle to victory in promise to those fallen.

Metin Acet from Sirnak, nom de guerre Şahin Cudi
Siyawej Miradiyan from Mahabad, nom de guerre Şerbek
