Religion and democracy. Two different ideas that are against each other 
where that religion plays more role can not imagine that there is no freedom or democracy, the religion is anti-democracy, especially the Islamic religion and Islamists are anti democracy and a major threat to society. 
Where people have strong belief in religion there can never be freedom and democracy
