🔸Several Kurdish groups from eastern Kurdistan based in Kurdistan announced on February 23 that they had formed a political coalition with the aim of overthrowing the Islamic Republic and ultimately achieving Kurdish autonomy.

🔸According to AFP, five exiled groups announced that they had formed a coalition to “affirm their presence in the current political situation in Iran, where the Islamic Republic regime has lost all its political legitimacy but remains in power.”

There is one thing that needs to be done by the Kurdish organization and that is to have more women in senior positions within Kurdish politics.

🔸A joint statement by the “Coalition of Political Forces in Iranian Kurdistan” stated that they support the anti-government protests in Iran and stressed the need for “coordinated and joint political and field efforts” between Kurdish parties, civil society, and opposition groups across Iran.

Komala Party

🔸The members of this coalition are: Kurdistan Freedom Party (Pak), Komala of the Working People of Kurdistan, Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK), Democratic Party of Iran Kurdistan and the Iranian Kurdistan Khabat Organization.

🔸The Komala Party of Iran Kurdistan has announced that it will not participate in this coalition, including by issuing a statement, with the objection that the coalition plan is "very general and open to interpretation and its specific content and political orientations are not clear."

The coalition of parties in Iranian Kurdistan is a historic achievement for Kurdistan and Iran

Today, five parties in Iranian Kurdistan formed a coalition and officially began their strategic cooperation and alliance for the period before and after the overthrow of the Islamic Republic.

Such an alliance has no parallel in the history of Kurdistan and Iran. What makes this event doubly important is the reverse trend that a part of the Iranian opposition, namely the monarchists, is undergoing.

In this video, I will discuss the history of similar but smaller measures of this alliance and the preliminary efforts to form it.

Then, I will mention the concessions and sacrifices that all five parties made to form this alliance; the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran, PJAK, Komala Zhamtekashan, Khabat, and Pak.

Finally, recalling the current conditions of the Iranian opposition and the need for an Iranian renaissance, I expressed the hope that this action by the Kurdish parties will be a jolt to the Iranian opposition as a whole, so that they can draw inspiration from it to organize this united front.
