وبحسب مصادر محلية فإن بعض الفصائل الموالية لتركيا والتي تسيطر كل منها على قرية سمحت في حالات قليلة بإعادة اجهزة الخليوي إلى أصحابها، فيما تصر غالبية الفصائل على إخضاع الاتصالات لرقابتها من خلال السماح بإجراء مكالمات الاطمئنان بين الأهل لكن تحت رقابة عناصرها، بينما لا تزال اخبار غالبية القرى مقطوعة عن العالم الخارجي وعن ذويهم المتواجدين في بلدان اللجوء وغيرها، الأمر الذي يشيع حالة من الخوف والإرهاب بين أبناء عفرين في الخارج والذين لديهم أهل في الداخل.
