According to the Norwegian authorities, the man is a danger to the country
Two years ago, Norway expelled a violent Islamist who the country considered to be an immediate security risk. The 30-year-old man, a Swedish citizen, was deported to Sweden. From here he has continued to act for extreme Islamism as late as this week.
In Norway, 30-year-old Adnan Shaluni, under the name "Abu Arijon", for one period was one of the spokesmen for the Norwegian extremist group Ummah of the Prophet, a group that openly supported the terrorist organization of the Islamic state.
Shaluni came to Sweden from Kosovo as a child, is a Swedish citizen but moved to Norway in 2007. According to the Norwegian public service company NRK, in 2014 he sought up the then spokesman for the Prophet Ummah, Ubaydullah Hussein. Adnan Shaluni quickly became a key person in the group, and when Ubaydullah Hussein was imprisoned in 2016 for recruiting jihadists to IS, it was Shaluni who led the group's media talks. In the judgment against Ubaydullah Hussein, also Shaluni was included in the car when Hussein, on June 8, 2015, drove a young man from Oslo to Landvetter Airport for further travel to Syria. But at the airport, the Swedish police waited.
According to the decision, the Norwegian State considered that there was "an immediate danger" for Shaluni to "plan, contribute and / or commit terrorist acts in Norway".
Shaluni was never charged with that incident, but the Norwegian security service has long had him on his radar. On October 28, 2016, the Norwegian Department of Justice decided to expel him on the basis of the country's foreign team, which allows for expulsion for reasons of public order and security. According to the decision, the Norwegian State considered that there was "an immediate danger" for Shaluni to "plan, contribute and / or commit terrorist acts in Norway".
Adnan Shaluni was taken two days later by Norwegian authorities to Sweden, where he is currently written at an address in a medium-sized city. Shaluni, who rejects the charges against him, has appealed against the decision in Norway but lost to the Norwegian state in two instances. By January 2018, Borgarting found that there were grounds for the expulsion decision.
In Dokus own research bank there are examples of Adnan Shaluni's earlier dissemination of IS propaganda in the Swedish radical -lamist environment.
Norwegian media have been diligent in reporting on Adnan Shaluni. According to the NRK, the state attorney during the trial pointed out three main reasons for the assessment that led to the expulsion decision: that Shaluni was a central person in the organization Ummah, the organization, that he had contact with another well-known Islamist in Norway, Arfan Bhatti, and that he had given support to IS in social media.
In Dokus own research bank there are examples of Adnan Shaluni's earlier dissemination of IS propaganda in the Swedish radical -lamist environment. In 2014 he released a link to a propaganda film from IS in the Swedish, closed facebook group Ummah Nyheter. The film showed the brutal execution of American journalist James Foley, and Shaluni commented on the link with "ALLAHU AKBAR! American soldiers captured by IS! "
This week, examples also showed that Shaluni continues to work for extremism from Sweden, and that there has been a split in the Norwegian Salafi jihad environment. In a press release that Shaluni sent to Norwegian press and also posted on his facebook page, a group called "Ansar-ul-haqq" (Defender of Truth) goes to attack the Norwegian Islamist Arfan Bhatti as they call "hypocrites". The reason is that Bhatti, in one case, sued the Norwegian state, which, according to the press release, is incompatible with Islam because it recognizes laws created by people.
"If the execution was Islamic legitimate, so according to Allah's shariah, I can not condemn it as a Muslim."
Doku has had an email contact with Adnan Shaluni. He writes that behind "Ansar-ul-haqq" are people from Arfan Bhatti's former circle of contacts. It's no organization but just a name they gathered behind to disregard his actions.
When it comes to expelling him to Sweden, he thinks it is unfair.
-PST (Norwegian Security Police, Reds. Note) had an offensive action to split the environment at all costs. In my case, I resulted in being expelled. They thought well, "Why should we hurry money to follow / supervise him when big sweet Swedish brother can get the juicy expenses for his own citizen," he writes.
He also denies that he should have honored IS.
"Then I had been sentenced and imprisoned in Norway.
When Doku asks about the sharing of the IS movie with the execution of James Foley, Adnan Shaluni replies that he does not remember it but can not condemn it.
"If the execution was Islamic legitimate, so according to Allah's Shariah, then, as a Muslim, I can not condemn it.
On the question of whether he has contact with Muslim groups in Sweden, he answers:
- Are there groups in Sweden?
After reading the article, Adnan Shaluni wants to add the following paragraph:
"Whether I answer your questions or not, you will publish this, but there's no point in running this scare tactic because it's even more fragmenting Swedish society. We Muslims are part of Swedish society and you right-wing extremists must accept this. "
