Oil Trade Halted at Parwezkhan Border Crossing to Comply with Sanctions on Iran.
Only hours after the US announced a new phase of sanctions on Tehran on Monday, the oil trade was halted in the Parwezkhan border crossing between the Kurdistan Region and Iran, an official said.
Aram Says, head of the border crossing, explained in a statement that the decree has not affected the food imports as they have not received any such administrative decisions, Kurdistan 24 reported.
The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that serious measures will be taken towards any countries trying to assist Iran.
He announced eight countries that will receive a waiver for the Iran sanctions, noting that the economic restrictions will continue until Iran has changed its "destabilizing behavior," while Iraq was not on the list.
