Known human rights criminals take over Iran's judiciary.

Brahim Raisi, a notorious human rights criminal, is appointed head of the regime's so-called legal system. He will officially take over the record on the seventh of March.

It confirms Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, spokesman for the regime's judiciary, for the regime's state media on Sunday.

Raisi replaces the vicar, Sadegh Amoli Larijani, who is on the EU sanction list for participation in cruel human rights violations in Iran.

Sadegh Amoli Larijani was previously appointed chair of the priesthood aptitude council.

The priestess Raisi, challenged Rouhani in the last presidential election and was the top spiritual leader of the party. His candidacy contributed to a growing demand for justice in Iranian society because Raisi is one of those responsible for the 1988 massacres of thousands of political prisoners in Iran.

He was a member of the "Death Commission", as is known by Iranian political prisoners. The Commission oversaw the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in the summer of 1988, mostly members and supporters of the opposition People's Mojahedin (PMOI or MEK).

"The fact that a notorious human rights abuser may lead the so-called judiciary of the clergy points to a consolidation within the regime of increasing suffocation of regime-critical protests before growing popular dissatisfaction," said Massud Kiani, FFFI's EU representative.

"This is alarming news for regime critics and activists but at the same time reveals the true face of the clergy," he added.

Raisi is currently head of Astan Quds Razavi, Iran's richest charity foundation responsible for the nation's holiest shrine in Mashhad, northwestern Iran. The foundation has very close links with the priesthood's highest spiritual leader, Khamenei.
