N's High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, criticized the execution of two minors in Iran.
"The execution of two 17-year-old boys in Iran accused of rape and robbery after a trial that has seriously violated the fundamental rule of law for the victims is regrettable," said Michelle Bachelet in a statement on Friday.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights also pointed out that the execution of juvenile delinquents is prohibited under international law.
She urged the Iranian regime's authorities to immediately stop all executions of juvenile offenders in the country.
FFFI reported earlier on Friday that the Iranian regime had punished two 17-year-old multiple-lash boys before being secretly executed.
"Mehdi Sohrabifar and Amin Sedaghat, two cousins, were executed on April 25 in the Adelabad prison in Shiraz, Fars Province, southern Iran. Both were arrested when they were 15 years old and were sentenced for several rapes after an unfair trial, "Amnesty revealed in a statement on April 29.
Neither their families nor lawyers were informed of the executions in advance, according to Amnesty.
"The government continues to silence while the Iranian regime commits cruel human rights violations and violates international law. It is no longer acceptable and we expect the Foreign Minister, Margot Wallström (S), and the Foreign Ministry to follow the UN and condemn these cruel executions, "said FFFI's EU representative, Massud Kiani.
