An exiled political prisoner who is serving his sentence in Semnan prison was beaten by one of the prison officials.

Maryam Akbarimanfard was beaten by the head of the meeting hall of Semnan prison on Wednesday, the second of Shahrivar.

Simultaneously with the announcement of the beating of Maryam Akbari Monfared in Semnan prison, the news tells about the arrest of Sara Siahpour, an activist of the teachers' union. Also, Narges Mohammadi reported the heart attack of 4 female prisoners in Evin prison.

According to the statements of an informed source, a person named Kurdi, deputy of Semnan prison, while being disrespectful, objected to the meeting of the two daughters of this prisoner due to the lack of covering of the tent and they planned to return him to the prison.

This source added: Mrs. Akbari Manfard, who was protesting about this issue, resisted to return to the prison, when Hosseinipour, the head of the meeting hall, grabbed her by the throat and beat her. Finally, with the resistance of this prisoner and the intervention of the head of the prison, he met with his family.

It is said that Mrs. Akbari Manfard and her husband have been threatened to open a new case on the charge of disturbance in prison order.
