A doctor.
Arrested for saving lives.
Dr. Sarvenaz Amiri, a physician and humanitarian aid worker,
was arrested on January 11, 2026 (21 Dey 1404) in her private residence in Tehran
by forces of the Islamic Republic.
Her only “crime”:
Providing medical care to injured civilians.
Since her arrest:
No information about her whereabouts.
No confirmation of her health condition.
No access to a lawyer.
This is enforced disappearance.
This is a violation of fundamental human rights.
Targeting doctors for fulfilling their medical oath
is a direct attack on humanity itself.
We call on the United Nations,
the UN Human Rights Council,
and all international human rights organizations:
Act now.
Demand her immediate release.
Ensure transparency.
Hold those responsible accountable.
Silence is complicity.
Be her voice.
