PKK special unit liberates Yezidis surrounded by ISIS
A special unit of the Kurdistan Workers´ Party (PKK) has liberated a group of Yezidis who had been surrounded by ISIS terrorists north of the pilgrimage site of Sharfadeen. During the rescue operation PKK fighters repelled ISIS attacks and were able to keep them at distance until the civilians were brought to safety.


The group of Yezidis was on the way to the Sharfadeen sanctuary north of Sinjar as they ran into an ambush of ISIS terrorists. A PKK unit deployed not far from the scene heard about it and went immediately to the rescue before ISIS terrorists were able to carry out a massacre.
The civilians were brought to safety, clashes with ISIS terrorists continued for a short time. According to PKK sources several ISIS terrorists were wounded, there were no casualties on PKK side.

In another attack of ISIS terrorists on the Yezidi village of Bane carried out on Friday PKK fighters killed five terrorists, wounded another five and destroyed their military equipment. The village located north of Sinjar where the clashes lasted until yesterday is currently under PKK control.
According to the ANF journalist Dilser Ernosto a high-ranking terrorist leader of ISIS was among the killed terrorists.
