Pompeo to discuss nuclear issue in North Korea
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Pyongyang, North Korea's capital, to discuss the nuclear issue.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived Friday for Pyongyang, where he hopes to have a clearer commitment to nuclear disarmament after a historic summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un and US President Donald Trump.
Pompeo was received by his North Korean counterpart Ri Yong, the second official of the Kim Jong-Un regime.
US President Donald Trump has been optimistic since his historical meeting with Kim on June 12 in Singapore over the chances of peace on the divided Korean peninsula since the 1950-53 Korean War, stressing that the threat of a nuclear war is out of the question.
Kim agreed to "complete denuclearization" of the Korean peninsula, a phrase Pyongyang prefers without citing US demands that North Korea evacuate its nuclear arsenal in a "verifiable" and irrevocable manner.
Pompeo was tasked with negotiating a program to reach a plan in which Washington hoped Kim would announce the scale of his nuclear weapons program and agree on a timetable for dismantling it.
Pompeo told reporters at his base at the US base in Yokota, Japan
"Our leaders took commitments during the Singapore summit on the complete denuclearization of North Korea."
Pompeo added "On this trip, I am trying to learn some details about those commitments and to continue the momentum towards implementing our leaders' commitments to each other and to the world
