Experts: They have embarked on bombings in Iran

An umbrella organization that wants the province of Kuzestan in Iran to become independent. It is the group as a Danish security police identified as the target for the suspected Iranian assault attempt in Denmark.
The Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz (ASMLA), has its foothold in the Khuzestan province, at the border with Iraq. The three exile militia suspected of being threatened by a Danish police by the Iranian security service are linked to this organization.
"The people who sit in Denmark say belong to a group that is part of this umbrella organization," said Rouzbeh Parsi, head of the Middle East and North Africa program at the Foreign Policy Institute.
In the province that the group wants to break down, the bulk of Iran's oil sources are found, which many within the group consider not to benefit the locals. They also believe that the Arab-speaking minority is discriminated against by the central government in Tehran.
"ASMLA is an organization that claims to represent the Arab-speaking part of the population - which represents a minority in the country," says Parsi.
The reason why the Danish state protects the people is precisely because of their involvement in the movement. According to Parsi, the planned attack can be seen as a sort of revenge campaign when the group is accused of conducting a deed in Iran in September, when several civilians and militarymen minimize their lives.
The group in Denmark, however, initially committed the deceit, which was then denied by ASMLA.
"The organization has previously taken on bombings that took place in Iran, but it was over ten years ago, what I know, says Rouzbeh Parsi.
Financing is also believed to come from foreign powers. According to Parsi, there are many cases in the Middle East where minority dissatisfaction has been used in this way.
"The Iranian state has, among other things, accused Saudi Arabia of contributing money to such groups.
But why is Iran planning an attack on a group in Denmark?
"In principle, all states to varying degrees feel the need to respond when attacked. You want to fight those who think they are responsible for the terrorist council in Iran, "said Rouzbeh Parsi.
