Suspicious death of a political activist from Sardasht in the Kurdistan region

The body of a political activist from Sardasht was discovered in his house in the city of Erbil in the Kurdistan Region, while the effects of torture on his body are quite obvious.

, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network published the news of the suspicious death of "Ahmad Begum" quoting one of the relatives of this Kurdish political activist and wrote: The house was cut off. In recent years, he has been working as a construction worker in Erbil. When he did not show up at work on Saturday and still did not answer phone calls from friends and family, one of his co-workers came to his house and found his lifeless body upon entering the house.

The source added: "After informing the Erbil city police, Mr. Beigham's body was transferred to forensic medicine for an autopsy, and the next day it was handed over to his relatives for burial in Qaladzeh, Sulaimaniyah province." The forensic pathologist must announce the cause of death within 20 days, but photos taken and published by Ahmed's relatives while washing his body show signs of torture.

Erbil police have not yet made an official statement on the matter, and the autopsy results will be announced in the next 20 days.

According to the report, Mr. Beigham told a friend last week that he was being chased by a suspicious car.

Mr. Begham's friend told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network: "Ahmad was talking last week about being chased by a suspicious car. He told me; He was chased by a white car for two days after the construction work was completed.

According to this report, Mr. Beigham was arrested in October 1982 for participating in a protest rally and convicted in court. He spent about 5 years of his life in Sardasht and Mahabad prisons. He had been detained several times before by security forces.

According to this report, this political activist was forced to leave the country and reside in the Iraqi Kurdistan region as a political asylum seeker in 1990 due to pressure from the security institutions of the Islamic Republic.
