Shima Babaei, a civil activist and former political prisoner, announced the possibility of her father being abducted in a video message.

According to Ms. Babaei, in early January, she was falsely informed about the death of her father, Ibrahim Babaei, at the home of a human trafficker in the suburbs of Van.

 Ms. Babaei states; He mourns the loss of his father, but later realizes that it was a great deception to bring him to the Iranian-Turkish border and arrest him.

Noting that his father was a former political prisoner and had been sentenced to imprisonment and flogging in a new case, he called on all media activists at human rights organizations to help him find out about his father's unclear fate.
