alawla was one of the most dangerous places in Iraq similar to Fallujah. From 2004-2008 the US troops lost many soldiers against al-qaida and the Sunni-tribesmen in Jalawla. The US army withdraw from Jalawla in 2008 due to Obama's promise to bring home the American troops. Before ISIS came to Jalawla, the Iraqi army could not enter that area, they had lots of clashes before the Iraqi crisis started, similiar to Anbar, Fallujah and Mosul.
