Turkey dared to attack Afrin as a result of international silence on its violations’

AFRIN- The co-chair of the Executive Council in Afrin canton Hevi Mustafa assessed the recent situation in the region and said that the international silence made Turkey continue to encroach on many areas of Syria, and said that the resistance of the people of Afrin resist on the ninth day in front of the arsenal of Turkish weapons.

This came during an interview with ANHA agency with Hevi Mustafa, she that the Turkish occupation army targets civilians.

She noted that  “The Turkish media and other media are trying to force the people to take up arms. This is far from true, because the Turkish army and its mercenaries are targeting civilians and the right of the person to defend himself as a reaction to these attacks targeted their villages. “

She added “The area has been cleaned for more than four years and we have established Autonomous Administration institutions along with the components that coexist in peace and security. Our regions have maintained themselves for not entering sectarian conflicts. Afrin has embraced thousands of displaced people from the rest of Syria and has been a safe haven. Erdogan is turning the facts. “

She said “Turkey has taken its courage and legitimacy from the international silence. From the first day, we present reports and proofs that confirm the involvement of Erdogan and his government in supporting terrorism.”

She added “As we have already stated, Erdogan used the international silence and dared to attack Afrin. We therefore appeal to the international powers, organizations and all people who believe in democracy and the rights of the oppressed peoples to come out of their silence and make a serious decision to hold Erdogan accountable.”
