Afrin: A new twist in path of Syrian crisis

Afrin: A new twist in path of Syrian crisis.

NEROOZ OSMAN
NEWS DESK -Since February 13, 2016, Afrin  city has gained great importance in the political agenda, in light of the Syrian crisis, especially in north Syria, like Aleppo and Idlib. After the Turkish occupation army launched the first artillery bombardment on Afrin, especially after the liberation Tal Rifat in the areas of al- Shahba of the mercenary factions of the Syrian coalition, which included mercenaries Ahrar al-Sham and al-Nusra Front, and still witnessing the conflict. The Turkish state is deceiving public opinion and is trying, under the name of “the battle of Afrin”, to transfer its mercenaries to Syria under the name of the return of the refugees, while trying to cover up the killing of mercenaries, who joined them in an attempt to occupy Afrin as “fighting terror in Afrin.”
Afrin is located in a geopolitical area that is important geopolitically makes it a scene of conflict between several local and international forces. It is also located near the cities of Aleppo and Idlib, the areas of Al-Shahbaa and part of the occupied areas of Al-Shahba (Bab, -azaz and Mara). Five areas of the canton are also located on the borders of Turkey (Shia-Janderis-Shara-Rajo-Bilbila) also near the points of al-Nusra Front, such as Samaan Citadel, Jabal Aqil and Sheikh Barakat. It is a good neighbor to the Shiite cities Nabel and Zahra, along with the important Tel Qustul Jendu, which is located in Shara district, where the border security gate between Syria and Turkey is supervised, the crossing bab al-Salama point. It is also an important point of its access to the Syrian coast on the Mediterranean, the point of ambition of America, Russia and Turkey.
Turkey is trying through the battle of Afrin revive the dead coalition
The battle of Afrin is a political battle as it is a military one. It is no longer just a Kurdish-Turkish war; it is a fateful battle to settle scores of domestic and international forces, foremost among them Russia, Iran, Turkey and, most importantly, the Syrian regime. Perhaps what Turkey calls the Free Army factions in the battle of Afrin is another new step to put them on the scene as a new alternative to Syria’s Democratic Forces. The sources confirmed that the factions included by Turkey to this battle are mercenaries of the “Second Legion” led by Fahim Issa, where Fahim Issa formerly leader of the faction of Sultan Murad, who participated in the siege of eastern neighborhoods and the bombing of the Sheikh Muqsood neighborhood and the areas of Shahba, The most important factions supported by Turkey. Turkey is trying through the battle of Afrin revive the dead coalition under the name of the Shield of the Euphrates.
While Turkey has failed for more than once in its endeavors to show these factions as an alternative Syrian force on the ground.
Turkey announced the spring of 2015 by Jawish Oglo that America has begun to train some of the so-called moderate factions in the Turkish land and America provided them with  the equipment and all they need to train in Turkey to fight the regime and IS mercenaries. The Pentagon spent a few months in 2015 by 384 Million dollars to train 180 elements of those factions only, about 2 million dollars on each element of them. While the elements of these factions were killed or fled from the fronts they were sent to.
Washington officially announced its cessation of training and support for these factions, which failed several times despite the large support provided by the United States to them in vain.
Why did the regime allow the participation of its enemies from the coalition in occupation of Syrian lands?
The great and sharp contradiction we are witnessing now in the battle of Afrin, similar to what we have witnessed so far in Aleppo – Idlib and Damascus and even Homs and Hama, that both allow Russia and the regime of the mercenaries of the Syrian coalition occupation of the land of Afrin, which is part of the Syrianland and we are all aware that these factions are who were fought by Russia and the regime in Aleppo and Idlib and the vicinity of Latakia and Hama and several areas of Syria during the Syrian crisis.
The agreement of Russia and the regime with Turkey, as happened in the scenario of Aleppo. Perhaps allowing Russia to interfere with Turkey and the mercenaries of the coalition and occupying part of Syrian landis very important. Is it a new agreement by the regime? There is a sign that the regime agreed through Erdogan with the Muslim Brotherhood in this matter and they have headquarters in Daraa and Quneitra.
Afrin in exchange for Abu al-Dohor and Harasta
The dismantling of the equation of the regime and Russia + Turkey and the opposition = Afrin is not difficult, but on the contrary, the agreements and differences are in accordance with the law of the interest, where the eyes remained at first sight on the Turkish occupation attempt to Afrin synchronously; linked to control of the regime on the airport Abual- Dahor in Idlib, An agreement between Turkey and the regime is true. But most importantly, the agreement between Turkey and the regime that prohibits Turkey from mercenaries of the Nasra Front to launch any attack on Abu Dahour Airport on the one hand and al-Rashidin neighborhood in Aleppo on the other hand, and most importantly, the Syrian city of Harasta. Harasta city is located in the countryside of Damascus on the eastern side of the main road between the cities of Homs and Damascus.
The importance of the city of Harasta lies in two reasons: first, its proximity to the Syrian capital, Damascus, and secondly, it is the breaking point of the Syrian regime.
Turkey wants to transfer its mercenaries to Syria on behalf of the refugees
On the other hand, we see that Turkey is talking about its goal of working on the return of refugees to Syria as another part of the Afrin operation. According to Erdogan, Turkey wants to work for the return of more than 3 million displaced Syrians. This is indeed a fantastic number, and Turkey’s goal in this step is to transfer its mercenaries back to Syria, which is itself a worrying step to ignite the war that is almost over in Syria. According to reliable sources, Turkey has prepared more than 5000 mercenaries, at least from the Islamic Party of Turkestan and mercenaries of other factions.
