DF Releases Figure of Casualties in Clash with Turkish Army
The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces has released a statement in which it confirms that 43 of its fighters have lost their lives while clashing with the Turkish army and Ankara-backed militias in northern Syria.


The SDF, in which the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) plays a leading role, also claimed it has killed 308 Turkish soldiers and their allied militias as military confrontations continue for the seventh day.
Apart from, weapons, ammunitions and armoured vehicles, the SDF said it has also seized the bodies of four killed Turkish troops.
According to SDF statement, the Turkish army has conducted 699 mortar attacks with 191 airstrikes against the Syrian Kurdish positions around Afrin.
The Turkish army launched a large-scale military operation dubbed “Olive Branch Operation” last Saturday, 20th January. According to the SDF, the Turkish assaults have so far left 59 civilians killed with 134 others injured.
