Bulgaria seizes 288 kg of heroin in a truck from Iran.

Bulgarian customs authorities seized over 288 kg of heroin hidden in a truck from Iran. It announced the country's prosecuting authorities on Thursday, according to several international media.
The heroin seizure is, according to the reports, the year's largest seizure in Bulgaria. Two men, an Iranian truck driver and a Turkish man, have been arrested and prosecuted for drug trafficking, reporting media and referring to a statement from the local Prosecutor's Office in the Haskovo region.
According to the prosecution, the men were to receive the drugs and now risk between 15 and 20 years in prison.
The heroine was found on Sunday after the truck was x-rayed at the border control between Bulgaria and Turkey. It was divided into 144 smaller packages which were then hidden in the floor and the ceiling of a spray painting machine that was transported inside the truck.
Italian police seized 270 kg of heroin hidden in a container arriving aboard a ship from Iran last year.
has previously reported on the Iranian regime's active role in drug production and smuggling. The regime earns billions of dollars on illegal activities and uses the money to fund the paramilitary force, revolutionary guards, terrorism, robotic program, and export arms to other countries in the region.
In 2012, the United States imposed sanctions on a leading member of the Revolutionary Guard's Qods force for his involvement in drug trafficking.
Iranian regime president Hassan Rouhani has previously threatened the world with terrorism and drug dissemination.
