According to a diplomatic note sent by the US to the United Nations Office in Iran, the traffic of more than five Iranian diplomats and their families living in New York is severely restricted.

These diplomats have been subject to similar restrictions imposed by the United States against Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during his trip to New York.

According to Reuters, these people can only travel between the United Nations, Iran's UN office, the residence of the Iranian ambassador to the United Nations and John F. Kennedy Airport.
