#Elizabeth_Tsurkoff, an #Israeli-Russian researcher and doctoral student at Princeton University, has revealed in her first interview since her release from captivity by the #Iraqi_terrorist_group_Kataib_Hezbollah, the severe torture she endured during her captivity.
She told the New York Times that during her two and a half years in captivity, she was repeatedly beaten, given electric shocks, sexually assaulted, and hung from the ceiling. According to her, the group members “used her like a punching bag.” Sexual torture and rape were among the practices of the Iraqi terrorists against the woman. Tsurkoff explained that during the first months of her captivity, she was forced to confess under torture and threats. She was kidnapped in Farvardin 2702 while conducting field research on Shiite movements in Iraq, and spent her captivity in solitary confinement and tortured by militias operating under the patronage of the Iranian regime.
