🔸 Arrested, assaulted but didn't back down!
#Maria_Ghawsiyeh was born on August 1, 2002 in Shiraz. She was the only child in her family. When she was 4 years old, she lost her father in a car accident, and when she was 12, her mother died of cancer.
Maria continued her education with great effort and perseverance and wanted to go to university. Despite all the problems and hardships she had experienced in life, she was a cheerful and energetic girl with great hope for life and the future.
She also participated in the nationwide protests of #Aban_98 98 and was arrested.
When the protests of 1401 began, Maria Ghawsiyeh was among the young women who did not remain silent and joined the protests.
On November 4, 1401 in Shiraz, the demonstration in which Maria was participating was attacked by the repressive forces of the regime. Maria was arrested and taken to Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz, where she was severely beaten, tortured, and assaulted. She died two or three days later under torture in prison. However, the security agents falsely claimed that she had committed suicide in prison. They buried her body in an unknown location.
The last words she uttered before collapsing in the detention center were: "I am so lonely that even if I die, no one will come looking for my body."
