Environmental activist Frank Jamshidi sentenced to 4 years in prison by the criminal regime of ignorant mullahs
STANWAIR - Sanandaj Revolutionary Court sentenced Frank Jamshidi, an environmental activist and member of the Kurdistan Green Society, to four years in prison.
Kurdistan Human Rights Media reported that the court accused the environmental activist of being a member of a Kurdish opposition party.
The Sanandaj court announced this sentence to Ms. Jamshidi's lawyer on Tuesday, February 11, 2010.
Frank Jamshidi was arrested by the Sanandaj Intelligence Service in early July of this year and was released on a temporary bail of 200 million Tomans after four and a half months.
The environmental activist was denied access to his family during his detention, and his detention was extended five times.
Arrests and prison sentences for Kurdish citizens by the Islamic Republic's judiciary and security services have increased at an unprecedented rate in recent months.
