The Narges Foundation reported on the “critical situation” of human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi in Zanjan Prison, announcing that on the 124th day of her new detention, she is facing physical deterioration, severe weight loss, repeated death threats, and deprivation of proper treatment.

The report states that her family observed signs of severe physical weakness in two face-to-face meetings on April 23 and 24, in the presence of prison officials. According to Hamidreza Mohammadi, Narges’ brother, she is being held in the ward of prisoners accused of murder and has been threatened with death several times by them.
The Narges Foundation also reported that after a heart attack on April 24, despite doctors’ warnings about the risk of another stroke, the human rights activist is still deprived of proper treatment and is being held alongside prisoners convicted of violent crimes; a situation that, according to the organization, has seriously endangered her life.
