YPS: At least 27 members of Turkish forces killed.

The General Coordination of Civilian Defense Units (Yekîneyên Parastina Sivîl, YPS) has released a statement reporting intense attacks by Turkish forces against the areas of self-rule in Northern Kurdistan.

YPS said their units inflicted heavy blows on Turkish forces in Şırnak, Gever and Nusaybin where at least 27 Turkish security officers were killed and 6 others were wounded.
Accordingly, YPS units killed 3 members of Turkish forces in an assassination action at 05:11 of 14 March in Mardin’s Nusaybin district. One other was killed as a result of an YPS action that targeted special operation teams at noon.
In the afternoon of the same day, YPS units hit a bus carrying special operation teams on İpek Yolu (Silk Road), but the number of casualties couldn’t be verified.
1 special operation police was killed in an assassination action in Koçer neighborhood where YPS units conducted another action against two checkpoints of Turkish forces, leaving 3 members of theirs dead on 16 March.
One other sabotage action by YPS targeted Turkish teams as they attempted to infiltrate into the neighborhoods protected by popular resistance in the evening. The casualties here couldn’t be verified, either.
2 Turkish security members were killed during heavy clashes of 16 March, and the driver of an armored vehicle that attempted to interfere the scene, was shot dead.
In the morning of 15 March, 2 special operation members, and one soldier were killed.
During the same hours, YPS units hit an armored vehicle positioned near İpek Yolu, which left the vehicle on fire that destroyed it later. 2 special operations members were killed and 2 others were wounded here.
YPS fighters carried out an action against a Turkish troop that tried to advance near İpek Yolu in the early morning hours of today. At least 10 members of Turkish forces were killed here.
Regarding the situation in Hakkari’s Gever district, YPS said the neighborhoods under siege are being bombed by troops from military battalions, outposts and tanks deployed around. Last night’s bombardment lasted from 21:00 in the evening till 01:00 midnight.
In Şırnak city center, YPS units killed 1 special operation police and injured one other as they tried to infiltrate into Ömer Köy neighborhood on 15 March.
YPS noted that Turkish forces patrolling in 2 armored vehicles set some houses on fire at night hours.
During the clashes ongoing in Yeni neighborhood since yesterday, 2 special operations members and 1 specialist sergeant were killed.
Troops in Çakır Suyun outpost are ceaselessly hitting Bahçelievler neighborhood with tanks.
