PYD statement on Shengal genocide
The General Council of Rojava's PYD released a statement on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of the Shengal genocide, and saluted the HPG guerrillas and YPG/YPJ fighters for frustrating the genocidal plans.

The General Council of Democratic Union Party (PYD) issued a written statement on the 3rd anniversary of the mass killings in Shengal, and expressed the harshest condemnation towards the 3rd August 2014 genocide on the Êzidî community perpetrated by ISIS gangs.
Naming the genocide as the 73rd massacre decree in the history of the Êzidî community, PYD stressed that the massacres aimed for the total annihilation of the Êzidî community, and saluted in this respect the guerrillas of HPG/YJA-Star and YPG/YPJ fighters for their historical resistance which saved the Êzidîs in Shengal from the genocide.
PYD Council highlighted the importance of the organisation of Êzidîs in Shengal and the establishment of the Shengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) which take on the protection of the region and can ensure an end to the subjection to genocidal threats.
Furthermore, the Council of PYD called upon international institutions to assist the Kurdish people in the face of the attacks of the enemies of humanity and to assist the rescue of the Êzidîs abducted by ISIS gangs.
At the end, the Council of PYD expressed condolences to all of the Kurdish people and declared support for the Autonomous Administration of the people of Shengal.
