The spokeswoman for the Armenian Ministry of Health, Alina Nikogossian, confirmed via Facebook, "Until now, the forensic service had received the bodies of 2,317 soldiers, including the bodies whose identity had not been identified."Shocking images captured by a photographer for Reuters in a convoy of Russian peacekeepers show heavy casualties in the fighting between Azerbaijani and ethnic Armenian forces in the battle for Shushi/Susa. Alina Nikogossian indicated that the process of exchanging bodies with the Azerbaijani side is still in its infancy, noting that the two parties do not have the final figures for the number of dead.

To this, the Armenian President, Armen Sarkissian, called for the necessity of returning Azerbaijan to the "Minsk Group" concerned with resolving the Karabakh conflict and defining its legal status.

Sarkissian said during a meeting with the heads of a number of technology companies in Yerevan: "There is a document about the armistice, but there is no Minsk group, which is the only body authorized to decide on the situation of Artsakh, and something will not be changed by anyone, and the situation is still not specified, there is a truce." Only, therefore, the operation must be returned to the Minsk group in an urgent manner. "

"Azerbaijan should be forced to return to the Minsk group," he added.

On the 9th of November, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia reached an agreement to end the war in Karabakh, after the clashes intensified on the 27th of last September, amid international ceasefire efforts and Turkey's attempts to fuel the conflict by sending hundreds of its mercenaries to fight alongside Azerbaijan.
