Femicide in the Islamic Republic Has the government failed to prevent the murder of women?
"I want to stay in Iran and serve my country"... These were the last words of #Zahra_Jalilian, a 32-year-old elite student at the University of Tehran; a girl who had said "I have made a discovery that will win me the Nobel Prize in Physics.
I am afraid that if someone finds out, they will take it from me by force or bring trouble on me", but two days later she died suspiciously. The university announced the news of "suicide" before anyone else. Now her family says Zahra was murdered, not that she killed herself! The lawyer in the case considers this death a "mysterious murder" and says that the forensic doctor has also ruled out suicide. But why is no one held accountable yet?
