Kurdish political prisoner is in bad condition in the prison of Kashmar

Shaker Baghi, the Kurdish political prisoner from Turkey is in bad condition in the prison of Kashmar. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Shaker Baghi, from the Kurdish city Van of Turkey had been arrested on the way from Sanandaj to Mariwan in 2007. He was kept in the Diesel Abad prison of Kermanshah for 2 months and was transferred to Sanandaj (Sne) prison afterwards. Finally, the authorities transferred him to the prison of Kashmar in Razavi Khorasan province. He has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. He is kept along with the prisoners charged with drug trafficking and murder and is in bad condition.

Three Iranian security officers killed in Kermanshan, Iranian Kurdistan   
Kermanshan: Kermanshan officials announced that on June 24, three Iranian security officers in the city of Salas Babajani were killed by assailants at night. The Mehr News Agency reports that Shahriyar Heydari, the Political and Security Director for Kermanshah Province in Iranian Kurdistan region (Rojhelat), said the officers were on patrol in a security vehicle when they were targeted by gunmen. ILNA reports that Heydari attributed the attack to PJAK, the Kurdish militant group that claims to fight for the rights of Kurdish minorities in Eastern Kurdistan, Iran. Last Sunday June 22, the Iranian army reported that a number of PJAK members were killed while trying to enter Iran through the country’s borders with Iraq and Turkey.

Kurdish political prisoner on hunger strike in Diesel Abad Prison in Kermanshan, Iranian Kurdistan 

Kermanshan: Layegh Kordpoor, A Kurdish political prisoner of Diesel-Abad prison in Kermanshan in Eastern Kurdistan (Rojhelat) is on hunger strike since 11 days ago and has sewn his lips. According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Layegh Kordpoor, the habitant of Javanrood, who is on hunger strike since 11 days ago, has sewn his lips. An informed source said “Layegh Kordpoor is started his hunger strike in protest to bad condition of the prison and also rejection of his request for transferring to Paveh (Pawe) prison that is close to the residence place of his family”. He also added, “The court has announced him that one year and eight month of his sentence is pardoned. But it never has happened. This prisoner believes that intelligence service has prevented this pardon to be applied”. Layegh Kordpoor was arrested in Javanrood on January 17, 2011, and after two months in solitary confinement of intelligence service detention of Kermanshah, was transferred to ward 209 of Evin prison. He was transferred to Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj and then Paveh prison. Finally he was transferred to Diesel Abad prison of Kermanshah. He has been sentenced to five years in prison by revolutionary court, on charge of supporting Salafi groups, but there is no information about the exact allegation and evidences that had been used against him in court.
