Some 20 civilians killed in Afrin, U.S. only calls for restraint
While nearly 20 civilians have been massacred during two days of Turkey’s invasion operation against Afrin, the US is contented with calling for “restraint” and “avoiding civilian casualties”. Another statement of “concern” came from Germany.

As the invasion attacks of the Turkish state and allied gangs against Afrin continue for the second day, undemanding statements of international forces on the matter are paving the way for civilian massacres. Warplanes of the Turkish state have targeted civilians and massacred nearly 20 people, most of them children, in two days.
The statement released by the US Sunday evening grabs the attention. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert remained contented with calling on Turkey to exercise restraint and ensure that its military operations remain limited in scope and duration and scrupulous to avoid civilian casualties.
Nauert said the United States is very concerned about the situation in northwest Syria, especially the plight of innocent civilians who are now faced with an escalation in fighting.
Another statement on Turkey’s Afrin operation came from Germany. Minister of Foreign Affairs Sigmar Gabriel said fighting causes uncalculated concerns.
Gabriel also said they are watching the developments in Northern Syria with concern, remarking that armed confrontation between Turkey and Kurdish forces bears unexpected risks. He said the last thing Syria needs is yet another conflict.
